Snowy Mountains – The Kosciuszko National Park

I haven’t seen snow for two years… Having a white Christmas is more than natural for me and to be honest we ( I mean people in Poland)  complain about the weather a lot “it’s freezing etc” but we love cold days, when outside is freezing but inside the house warm and cozy … Finally, after two years,  I could enjoy snow!

My friends and I spent a nice weekend in Perisher a few weeks ago. I’ve never been there before and I couldn’t stop taking pictures! That probably annoyed them a bit, but what could I do? I wanted to keep as many lovely memories as possible. This place is so beautiful! Completely different than mountains that I know.

Okay so I snowboard, but I haven’t done it for 4 years… Time goes so fast… I thought it’s like riding a bike, once you learned you never forget. so it isn’t like that, oh maybe it is, but you should know if you snowboard regular or goofy…. now I know… I snowboard goofy.

So yeah that wasn’t too comfortable anyway I managed and had fun until I felt down and OMG I was so scared that I broke my leg again! that would be the third time!

Fortunately,  nothing bad happened, I just had to enjoy  the rest of the weekend without snowboarding:D

The Parishier is the largest ski resort in Snowy Mountains. The resort is situated in The Kosciuszko National Park. The area was first explored by Europeans in 1835, and in 1840, Edmund Strzelecki (Pole) ascended Mount Kosciuszko and named it after a Polish patriot – Kościuszko! I was very happy and proud because I was the only person who was able to pronounce the name properly. My Australian friends always make fun of my accent. Then I could

The area is spectacular, just raw nature around. This is what I like in Australia the most – nature isn’t that much damaged by humans. There is a small town called Jindabyne with a beautiful lake, next timewill be more about it. I’m going to write another post.
